How do i line up the screws while installing a doorknob?

Hey there this is my first time installing a doorknob by myself, the doorknob i chose has a lock on it that you have to use a key to open, i have everything down and done but i am having trouble lineing the screws up with the screw posts, its just not working at all and is very frustrating, the screws either don’t go in or they just wont budge and turn. and yes i know lefty loosey and righty tighty. Help and tips appreciated ):

      It just takes patience. Try screwing the screws in without the doorknob in the way, just to reassure yourself that they actually do screw into the posts. Then put the doorknob back and try again.

      I hate putting door knobs on for that very reason. It’s easier if there are 2 people. Get one lined up and just give it a couple turns so you can still see the other one to line it up.

      The kind you are trying to put on are a pain in the butt, I have done about 100 and they are still a pain. Take it back and purchase the kind that have the female thread estensions. When you get one screw started dont tighten it until the second is started as well, this allows you to hold the handle away from the door so you can see the screw lining up.
